I am like the 44% of all that make New Year's Resolutions and never keep them. This year, I have been better than I usually am, and have kept a few of my goals. Decluttering was one of them. I crave an existence of order and serenity and my clutter was getting to me. Buying Real Simple magazine, reading the Unclutterer blog and practicing amateur feng shui doesn't actually influence my physical surroundings - only tossing does. This week I went through the linen closet and found enough to fill two garbage bags. How many twin size sheets do I need if I don't have a twin bed?
And my closet was next. I have been collecting sweaters for so long that at one point I had maybe 150 sweaters. Ridiculous, I know. I counted 26 grey sweaters alone! I go through my collection every few months and toss, and today I came up with two more bags. Yeah! I am in Calgary for 7-8 months a year, so surely, I don't need all that many sweaters. Maybe 75 will do. And the long sleeved tshirts were next. I found enough excess for a bag there. Again, would two black tshirts be enough or do I really need 8? I am feeling lighter this week by 5 bags.
