In Paris, thousands of padlocks in various sizes and colors - etched with the initials of their owners, have been affixed to the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Seine River. In the world's romantic capital, lovers throw the key into the water as a sign of their undying love.
This may been have started by a romantic novel called I Want You by Federico Moccia in which lovers kiss and throw the key into a river. (Dave and I were in Paris last year for my birthday and we celebrated by eating chocolate crepes.) Next trip to Paris, I am declaring my undying love for Dave by "locking our love" and throwing away the key.
