SHABBY CHIC OR JUST SHABBY

Lately, I have been obsessed with all things "shabby chic" and I am inspired to change my house from shabby to shabby chic which would mean slipcovering my furniture, painting all the wood to white and distressing it and then filling in the spaces with a bunch of old stuff that people are throwing away or that I overpay for from thrift stores. I bought several shabby dressers this last month (I always buy them thinking that Meagan could use them but I end of keeping them for myself. How can I resist when you can get a night table for $5.00? ) and then I sand, paint, distress and sand some more to turn them into something shabby chic, (or just shabby which was how I bought them in the first place). I am having fun with this obsession of taking crappy to shabby chic.
I found this wonderful armoire at the thrift store and have painted the inside a light blue, the outside creamy white and I will distress it later this week and put on crystal knobs. I will show you once I am done.

This is the before. Shabby.

This is the after. Shabby chic. (Notice the difference? and that's after 2 hours of sanding, painting and sanding some more haha) I have also been buying old mirrors and shelves and doing the same to them.
