I have spent the last few weeks reading novels (most of them not that note-worthy and some downright trashy and light). Last year, I read all of the Hunger Games books while I was on vacation. This year, I read this book. I borrowed it from the lending library up at the clubhouse, so if I didn't like it, at least I wasn't out any money. I was prepared to take it back and get a romance novel, but I was engrossed by it and found it captivating and beautifully written. It was a little rough in spots and is not my usual "fluff", but it was addictive and mesmerizing. I stayed up late reading and then finished the book before I got out of bed and had breakfast. It is a book about a lonely man that places and ad in the paper for a reliable wife. The advertisement is answered by a women who has plans of her own; to marry the man, kill him and live as a wealthy widow. She, of course, has a dark past, as does he, and their lives take an unexpected turn.... It was a poetic, suspenseful, juicy read that I would recommend if you are tired of the usual stuff.
i think im gonna start reading after im done school for a little bit after this semester. have you seen the trailer for the hunger games? it looks so good.
