Guess what? After living in this house for 19 years, I am finally getting the new kitchen I deserved the first day we moved in! I have waited (sometimes patiently, sometimes not) for this reno. I always hesitated to do a partial reno in the kitchen because I wanted to do it right. I am getting new floors, lights, windows, appliances, cupboards - everything. I can hardly wait. It is a ton of work getting ready for this though. I am moving the kitchen into the garage and that is where we will cook and eat for the next two months. I have sold off my old appliances and cupboards so I made some money - about 2% of the reno costs, which is nothing, but oh well. We are leaving for holidays the day the demo starts so luckily we will be away for most of the dirty part. It should be close to finished when we get home. I hope my kitchen guys do a great job and stick with the plan and it turns out even better than the plan. Check back in two months to see my new kitchen. Goodbye crappy, old kitchen!
